Convert type1 index to type2 index

Hi All,

I am going to upgrade our database from v7.2 to v9.7 so

a- upgrade database from v7.2 to 8.2
b- convert typ1 index to typ2 index via "reorg indexes all on table xxxx convert
c- upgrade to 9.7

OR


a- upgrade database from v7.2 to 8.2
b- upgrade to 9.7
c-reorg database via "reorg table xxxx " for all tables.


please let me know which approach is correct
