ODBC - connection to '|' failed

I'm trying to link tables from a SQL Server database to an Access 2007 front-end. My desktop is WinXP, I have successfully created the ODBC on my desktop and linked the tables in Access. The Access has a number of Macros and gets hung on load file that is an Excel 2007 spreadsheet. I have checked the Macro and I don't see any errors. The Macro halts and then gives me the error message --> ODBC - connection to '|' failed.

Any ideas?
