DB2 Multiple Version issues

We are currently running three versions of DB2 (7.1, 9.1, 10.1). For a time we will need to have applications coexist on workstations that access all three versions. The applications that access the two older versions of DB2 are written in VisualAge and VB 6 and access DB2 via ODBC and the 7.1 Runtime Client. The new applications we are developing to access DB2 10.1 are being written in Visual Studio. We’ve installed both the DB2 7.1 Runtime Client and the DB2 10.1 Runtime Client on a workstation. It appears that installing the 10.1 client breaks connectivity to 7.1 and 9.1 via the 7.1 Client. It also appears that just having the 10.1 client installed will not allow us to connect to 7.1 and 9.1. So we are in a bit of a conundrum. Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
