what happen if high_priority insert overrides low_priority

it is said that if HIGH_PRIORITY is specified , it overrides the effect of the --low-priority-updates option if the server was started with that option. then, what happen to the rows that LOW_PRIORITY being hold, does the rows will lost, or will be inserted into table imediately?
