Beginner in Perl

Hello All,

I am completely new to Perl , but i am very keen in understanding how it all works.

I have a requirement wherein i will have a web page where my user will input the filter criteria , on basis of which my program will coonect and search the records in database and furnish back the records file in excel back to User.

E.g: the user enters a range of Item Code on Web Page Form , on basis of the input condition , the program connects to the DB and pulls all the record for the range and publish them on an excel back to user.

If i can have this working , it will help me understand a lot about how Perl Works.

Please help or suggest.
