unable to login on audit database full

hi guys,
we've been implemented audit database of our production servers. until one day we're unable to LOGIN and force to undergo single mode to truncate the log, also ASE error log says that syslog for sybsecurity already full. i just want to clarify if this is really the mechanism of audit database that when syslogs gets full you will not be able to login to database.
