Oracle Developer with release development‏

Job Title: Oracle Developer

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 6+ months



H1s are fine.



Knowledge:



Oracle Must have release development experience





The person will be handling mostly AT&T tickets but also tickets for other customers if needed.



Some of the tasks involved include:

Taking a problem as presented by a customer or internally within· Openet and providing

a solution in a timely manner.

Ability to work within the past, present and future iterations of the different products·

Openet makes available with minimal downtime.

Create solutions to problems worthy of release directly to customer revenue generating·

systems.

Be able to identify and parse any issue with new or old technologies and communicate·

possible solutions clearly

Mentor, review and assist members of the team.·

Communicate technical concepts and status clearly and concisely to co-workers and·

management

Be able to validate probable ticket resolutions, based on past experience and·

understanding of issues.

Understand network protocol concepts·

Have extensive understanding of the complete· FusionWorks product suite

Work as a lead technical contributor within the Release Development team·

Understand new specifications, from real time network protocols to message and record·

codecs with minimal delay

Understand how the Release Development team's work relates to the overall software·

project, and validate interface requirements

Ensure effective handover of project to Customer Services and Professional Services·

groups as well as interactions directly with customers

Identify risks and develop contingency plans·

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Works on multiple problems of diverse scope covering existing· Openet technologies.

Is able to take responsibility for the complete life cycle of a trouble ticket from analysis·

to delivery

Is proactive within the team, contributes significantly to the success of the team and·

able to gain the co-operation of others.

Is experienced in a variety of technologies, possibly focusing on a particular expertise.·

Continues to demonstrate an organized, systematic, disciplined and analytical approach·

to designing, problem solving, coding and defect fixing.

Have excellent oral and written communication skills for effective· dialogue with

colleagues on the Release Development team, external groups within Openet and

customers.

Continues to develop an appreciation of the wider field of technology outside his/her·

own specialization and has developed a good broad understanding of computer system

architecture, (studying, magazines, internet...).

Able to bring these new technologies into use in· Openet.

Take responsibility for the planning and delivery of a Release Development ticket from·

analysis to resolution

Ability to properly scope complexity of trouble tickets and provide clear input to resource·

requirements, typically in conjunction with Customer Services or Professional Services

members and also directly from customers.

Ability to validate probable ticket resolutions, based on past experience and·

understanding of issues.

Continue to demonstrate an organized, systematic, disciplined and analytical approach·

to working through issues.

Work with design and development staff to incorporate previous patch releases into·

existing code and provide support to the test group in testing any resultant changes

Coordinate the work of other groups inside and between different engineering teams·

Leads technical reviews of documentation and source code.·

Able to represent· Openet Telecom at customer meetings, presentations and

conferences

Demonstrate a technical expertise in the a wide area of technologies covering various·

products released and in development by Openet

Anticipates customer requirements for new products or features and influences the·

organization to implement them.

Work with design and development staff to incorporate previous patch releases into·

existing code and provide support to the test group in testing any resultant changes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience, and a minimum 4 years industry experience.

SKILLS

Essential:

Strong Object oriented languages such as C++ or Java, including· STL and design

patterns

Strong multithreaded programming experience, including the· pthreads API and thread

synchronisation techniques

Network programming experience,· UDP/TCP, sockets API in blocking and non-blocking

mode

Telecomms protocol experience, eg HTTP, Diameter, SOAP, CORBA, RADIUS, GTP',·

SNMP, LDAP, SSH, SS7

Understanding of multithreaded software performance, including benchmarking and·

tuning

Strong problem solving skills with a focus on speedy resolution and ability to identify·

common programming mistakes

Strong leadership and drive·

Strong technical skills and understanding gained through previous experience and·

ability to transfer this knowledge to unfamiliar components to aid issue resolution

Troubleshooting with various analysis tools and debuggers including dbx, mdb , gdb,·

pstack and pmap and understanding core files and how to interpret them

Strong communication skills and ability to clearly impart information and issue details at·

various technical levels

Strong and extensive knowledge of Openet product suites·

Useful:

Billing/Mediation systems·

Telecoms standards·

Unix scripting·

Design and development methodologies·

Oracle (or other relational database experience)·
