how can i design a optimize database for inventory

Hii..This is Akshay..
m doing work on inventory mgnt system project .In this project i hav design a online laptop's shopping web site ..and control its inventory on back hand side.
my aim of this project is :
1..to track the inventory(laptop's)
2..profit
3..fetch the record easily to analyse.

i hav idea in my mind that ..i hav to create 3 tables
..order table
..product table
..sale table

i want to add some innovative think in this project
please help me how can i make this project attractive.
