Midi to Keystrokes

Hi guys.
I'm writing a program for Tablet PC's which will be used to display sheet music.

My problem is that I'd also like to give the end user the option to control the program remotely from their musical instrument over midi. Far as I know this is impossible to do inside Brilliant Database on it's own.

Do any of you know a free converter that converts midi data to keystrokes?

I found a pay for conversion tool here, but I don't really want to have to pay for this when I plan on giving away my program for free.
