Salary Range: $50/hr on C2C/1099. all inclusive

Our client is a Fortune 500 communications service provider that has grown exponentially over the past two years. They are in need of a Senior MS SQL Server DBA to become a part of their business as usual team in the 24x7 management and support of their 1000+, multi-terabyte SQL Server databases. The DBA will be responsible for daily administration, monitoring and performance troubleshooting in their highly complex and highly available SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 environments. As a member of the DBA team, you'll perform pro-active, preventative work within the environment to maintain best practices and keep a steady state. This position requires you to troubleshoot, resolve and deliver root cause of re-active incidents for customer database issues. In this position, you must be available for rotational coverage for escalations and trouble ticket resolution. All incidents and changes must be communicated by the DBA to client services and customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 Years experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
Will look at intermediate to senior level DBA
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to initiate conversations with team members
Experience building and maintaining SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 databases.
Bachelor's Degree, Microsoft certification.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS.
Expertise in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization, Ability to monitor and analyze performance metrics (perfmon, DMVs, profiler) and allocate database resources to achieve optimum database performance.
Extensive experience of backup, restore and recovery procedures..
Strong knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery for SQL Server 2005/2008.
Solid experience with Microsoft cluster technology.
Strong ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code (stored procedures, functions, tables, indexes, constraints).
Expertise in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services - used to perform data migration tasks) and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services is a server-based report generation software system).
Experience with SAN storage systems (Storage Area Network).
SQL Server install and upgrade experience.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, delivering projects in a quality fashion, and ability to mentor junior staff
